About Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery
Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery is set in the grounds of Riversley Park, Nuneaton, England, and has three displays which house consistently changing impermanent and visiting exhibitions.There is an exhibition devoted to the essayist George Eliot, together with two others concentrating on neighborhood history and compelling artwork. There is a little show of articles which had a place with the humorist Larry Grayson.
The gallery was paid for as a blessing to Nuneaton from Edward Ferdinand Melly. The child of Charles Pierre Melly, Edward Melly was conceived on 7 July 1857, at Riversley, the family's home in Mossley Hill, Liverpool. He moved to Nuneaton to fill in as Manager of the Griff Colliery Company.
In 1913 he offered to give the cash to manufacture an exhibition hall and display in Riversley Park which he had effectively talented to the town and had plans drawn up. The Museum and Art Gallery opened on Sunday, 1 April 1917.
