About Newtown
Newtown is the biggest town in the district of Powys, Wales. It had a populace of 12,783 out of 2001, tumbling to 11,357 at the 2011 registration. Lying on the River Severn, inside the memorable limits of Montgomeryshire, the town is best known as the origination of Robert Owen in 1771.
