About Nairn
Nairn is a town and former burgh in the Highland chamber zone of Scotland. It is an old angling port and market town around 17 miles east of Inverness. It is the conventional region town of the district of Nairn, otherwise called Nairnshire. As of the 2011 Census, Nairn had a populace of 9,773, making it the third-biggest settlement in the Highland committee zone, behind Inverness and Fort William. Nairn is best known as an ocean side resort, with two greens, grant winning shorelines, a network focus/mid-scale expressions venue, a little theater and one little exhibition hall, giving data on the neighborhood consolidating the gathering of the previous Fishertown gallery.
Ruler James VI of Scotland visited the town in 1589 and is said to have later commented that the High Street was long to the point that the general population at either end talked distinctive dialects, Scots and Gaelic. The landward ranchers and the angling families at the harbor end spoke Doric, and the highlanders spoke Gaelic. Nairn, some time ago split into Scottish Gaelic-and Scots-talking networks, was a town of two parts in different ways. The tight streeted fishertown encompasses a harbor worked by Thomas Telford while Victorian manors remain in the 'West End'. It is trusted that the Duke of Cumberland remained in Nairn the night prior to the skirmish of Culloden.
