About Motherwell
Motherwell is an large town and past burgh in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, south east of Glasgow. It has a people of around 32,120. Historically in the ward of Dalzieland part of Lanarkshire, Motherwell is the home office for North Lanarkshire Council. Geographically the River Clyde secludes Motherwell from Hamilton toward the west while the South Calder Water detaches Motherwell from Carfin toward the north-east and New Stevenston and Bellshill towards the north. Motherwell is furthermore topographically close Wishaw toward the south east. You can come and explore this place.
A Roman road through central Scotland continued running along Motherwell's side of the River Clyde, crossing the South Calder Water close Bothwellhaugh. At this convergence a fortification and shower house were raised, anyway the Roman proximity in Scotland did not last essentially later than this. Motherwell's name as far as anyone knows begins from a well, the Lady Well, formerly dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The site of this well is by and by separate by a plaque on Ladywell Road. The name "Moderwelt" appears on a guide of Lanarkshire made by Timothy Pont some time some place in the scope of 1583 and 1611 and engraved in the Netherlands in around 1652.
