About Morley
Morley is a market town and civil parish inside the City of Leeds metropolitan district, in West Yorkshire, England. It lies roughly 5 miles south-west of Leeds downtown area. The town had a populace of 44,440 out of 2011 and is comprised of the Morley North and South Wards. The common area had a populace of 27,738. The town is based on seven slopes: Scatcherd Hill, Dawson Hill, Daisy Hill, Chapel Hill, Hunger Hill, Troy Hill and Banks Hill.
Morley is first made reference to in the Domesday Book in 1086 as Morelege, Morelei and Moreleia.
