Market Rasen is a town and civil parish inside the West Lindsey region of Lincolnshire, England. The River Rase goes through it east to west, roughly 13 miles north-east from Lincoln, 18 miles east from Gainsborough and 16 miles south-west from Grimsby. The town is known for Market Rasen Racecourse and being near the epicenter of a 2008 seismic tremor. The number of inhabitants in the common area at the 2011 statistics was 3,904.
