About Lincoln Cathedral

Lincoln Cathedral or the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, and here and there St. Mary's Cathedral in Lincoln, England is the seat of the Anglican bishop.

Building initiated in 1088 and proceeded in a few stages all through the medieval period. It was the tallest working on the planet for a long time 1311– 1549, and the principal working to hold that title after the Great Pyramid of Giza.

The focal tower crumbled in 1549 and was not modified. The church building is the third biggest in Britain in floor territory after St Paul's and York Minster, being 484 by 271 feet 148 by 83 m.

It is exceptionally respected by building researchers; the prominent Victorian essayist John Ruskin pronounced: "I have constantly held that the church of Lincoln is unmitigated the most valuable bit of engineering in the British Isles and generally justified regardless of any two different houses of prayer we have.
