Leicester Guildhall
About Leicester Guildhall
The Great Hall itself was worked in around 1390 as a gathering place for the Guild of Corpus Christi, a little however capable gathering of representative and upper class.
After rebuilding, the Guildhall was opened to the general population as a historical center in 1926.
Today, the Guildhall is best known as a brilliant execution scene, drawing in acts from the nation over, and as a historical center where guests can venture back in time and encounter 'Crankie Gemmie' and 'Emma Smith', two of Leicester's famous pick-pockets who can be discovered hiding inside the Victorian police cells.
The Guildhall has been at the core of Leicester for over 600 years.
To help check the re-interment of King Richard III, we are propelling new lasting showcases which praise the rich legacy of the building and empower guests of any age to investigate life in Leicester in the medieval times.
