About Leicester Cathedral
The Cathedral Church of St Martin, Leicester is a historic church which is also typically known as Leicester Cathedral, is a Church of England house of prayer in the English city of Leicester and the seat of the Bishop of Leicester.
The congregation was hoisted to a university church in 1922 and made a house of prayer in 1927 after the foundation of another Diocese of Leicester in 1926.
The remaining parts of Richard III were covered in the house of prayer in 2015 subsequent to being found adjacent.
The building has experienced different reclamation extends throughout the hundreds of years, including work by the Victorian draftsman Raphael Brandon, and the building shows up generally Gothic in style today. Inside the church building, the vast wooden screen isolating the nave from the chancel was composed by Charles Nicholson and cut by Bowman of Stamford.
