About Kirkintilloch
Kirkintilloch is a town and former royals burgh in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It lies on the Forth and Clyde Canal and on the south side of Strathkelvin, around 8 miles upper east of focal Glasgow. Truly part of Dunbartonshire, the town is the regulatory focal point of the East Dunbartonshire board territory, and its populace in 2009 was assessed at 19,700. The main known settlement on the site of what is presently Kirkintilloch was a Roman fortification set up in what is currently the Peel Park territory of the town.
