About Islip Manor Meadows
Islip Manor was named after the Ruislip family, who claimed the domain in the fourteenth and fifteenth hundreds of years. It was a piece of Northolt Manor until around 1690, when it was sold to Charles Hawtrey. It was farmland until the finish of the nineteenth century, and in 1880 it was delivering 100 tons of feed a year. In 1928 it was sold to Ealing Council, and now frames some portion of the Metropolitan Green Belt.
The site is a wet glade which is isolated from fields by thick fences. The environment is different, with more than twenty grass and ten leguminous species.
