About Hollingworth Lake
Hollingworth Lake is a lake repository at Smithy Bridge, in Littleborough, some portion of the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, in Greater Manchester, England. The lake was initially worked as the principle water hotspot for the Rochdale Canal, however created as a visitor resort from the 1860s, and wound up known as the Weighver's Seaport. Lodgings were worked around it, something like two of which had open air moving stages with gas lighting. Tourism was helped by the entry of the railroad in 1839, which brought day-trippers and end of the week guests from Manchester, Bradford and Leeds.
The notoriety of the lake as a resort declined in the mid twentieth century, and the territory was utilized as an armed force camp amid the First World War. After the Second World War, drifting rights were purchased by Rochdale Council, who formed the zone into the Hollingworth Lake Country Park in 1974. There has been a consistent increment in offices since, and it is currently a flourishing community for water sports and different exercises. The lake underpins watersports like cruising, windsurfing, paddling, swimming, boating, paddling and angling. Since 1989, Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Center has offered educational cost in open air exercises, including kayaking, paddling, control drifting and cruising. In summer, guests can contract paddling water crafts.
