High Bridge
About High Bridge
The High Bridge in Lincoln, England, is the most established extension in the United Kingdom which still has structures on it.
The scaffold was worked around 1160 AD and an extension house of prayer was manufactured committed to Thomas Becket in 1235 on the east side of the bridge.
The sanctuary was expelled in 1762. The present column of timber surrounded shops on the west side of the scaffold date from around 1550.
The two upper stories of the shops are jettied forward and at the corners there are cut figures of holy messengers.
The shops were incompletely destroyed and re-raised in 1901– 02 under the supervision of the Lincoln draftsman William Watkins.
