About Helmshore Mills Textile Museum

The exhibition hall itself comprises of two plants; the Higher Mill which is a woolen fulling plant worked in 1789 and driven by a water wheel. Whitaker's Mill was worked in the mid-nineteenth century and is a specific cotton turning plant, beginning from squandering reused cotton and completing with donkey spun yarn. There are other noteworthy shows including a full-size Hargreaves Spinning Jenny and a picture of Sir Richard Arkwright.

All displays are depicted by methods for broad video introductions and educational plaques. Nearby schools make full utilization of the gallery as a feature of their instructive projects. The Higher Mill is claimed by a Trust however worked by Lancashire County Council. Whitaker's Mill is both claimed and worked by Lancashire County Council.
