Hatton Locks
About Hatton Locks
This well-known flight of 21 locks has a fascinating history. Best in class locks were worked at Hatton to fend off hardened rivalry from the streets and railroads and augmented in the 1930s. At the point when the locks were finished, groups played and swarms assembled to watch the Duke of Kent touch base by pontoon and cut the strip.
Today Hatton Locks is a dazzling tranquil area to watch the brilliant narrowboats as they travel through this flight on the Grand Union Canal and if that is excessive energy for what reason not appreciate a cookout along the towpath.
The flight was opened in December 1799 on the Warwick and Birmingham Canal. In 1929, the waterway was renamed as the Grand Union Canal on the unification of ious administrators and the choice was made to enlarge the Hatton extend.
