About Harvard House

Hard House remains is currently 26 High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England. The House has been thought about by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, for Hard University, since 1990. Thomas Rogers initials and those of his second spouse, Alice are cut on the front of the house, together with the date 1596. Around 60 years of age when the house was fabricated, Rogers was a fruitful butcher and furthermore a corn and cows merchant. He filled in as Alderman for the Stratford Corporation nearby John Shakespeare, William's dad.
Amidst the 1600s, Edward Rogers sold the house to John Capp, a metal forger, whose family kept on maintaining the business until around 1725. It was then let to a progression of occupants; book shops in the mid 1760s, a handyman amid the years 1734-1747, and a progression of ironmongers from 1782 until 1801. Tailors Thomas and Harvey Williams were in occupation until 1871, when the premises turned into a domain operator's office. In 1909, at the recommendation and eager help of the English writer and Stratford upon Avon occupant Marie Corelli, the house was acquired by the American mogul Edward Morris of Chicago. After broad rebuilding, it was given to Hard University and ended up known as Hard House.
