About Hainault Lodge

Hainault Lodge in fairlop is the main Local Nature Reserve in the London Borough of Redbridge. It is possessed and overseen by Redbrige Council. The 6.8 hectare site is a little remainder of the old Hainault Forest, nameed after a house which was worked in 1851 and decimated in 1973. In 1986 the site was gained by Redbridge Council. It was then so congested that it was out of reach, and in 1990 volunteers began to oversee it. In 1995 it was assigned a Local Nature Reserve.
The site is a blend of field and forest. Feathered creatures incorporate since quite a while ago followed tits, robins, extraordinary spotted and green woodpeckers and there are orange tip and dotted wood butterflies. Plants incorporate butcher's floor brush, foxgloves and red campion. A neglected engine compartment has been changed over into a bat hibernaculum. The lodge is at the side of Forest Road and Romford Road, yet the passageway door in Forest Road is bolted and there is no free.
