About Greenbooth Reservoir
Greenbooth Reservoir is a supply toward the north of Heywood and near Norden in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, inside Greater Manchester, England. In 1846, Heywood Waterworks Company wrapped up the Naden Reservoirs in the valley over the town of Greenbooth. By the 1950s, the town comprised of around 80 cabins, a sweet shop, a Co-operation store and a school. There was additionally a woolen factory. In 1958, Heywood and Middleton Water Board chose that another repository was expected to supply water to the developing population of Rochdale and began development of Greenbooth Reservoir that equivalent year.
It assumed control two years to work, with the town deserted, for the most part obliterated and afterward submerged. The repository was finished in 1961 and formally opened in August 1965.
