Great North Museu
About Great North Museu
The Great North Museu: Hancock is a historical center of regular history and antiquated developments in Newcastle upon Tyne, Britain. The gallery was built up in 1884 and was once in the past known as the Hancock Exhibition hall. In 2006 it converged with Newcastle College's Hatton Exhibition to frame the Incomparable North Historical center. The gallery revived as the Incomparable North Historical center: Hancock in May 2009 after a noteworthy expansion and repair of the first Victorian building.
The gallery and the greater part of its accumulations are possessed by the Characteristic History Society of Northumbria, and it is overseen by Tyne and Wear Files and Galleries in the interest of Newcastle College. Among the Exhibition hall's lasting occupants are an existence estimate cast of an African elephant; the Egyptian mummy Bakt-hor-Nekht; a full size reproduction of a T-Rex skeleton; and Sparkie, Newcastle's celebrated talking budgie, which was full after his demise in 1962 and is currently the subject of another musical drama by Michael Nyman.
