Dunbartonshire

Dunbartonshire is a historic county, lieutenancy place and registration county in the west central Lowlands of Scotland lying to the north of the River Clyde. Prior to 1975, the county was also used for local authorities with its own county council, its administrative centre being on the metropolis of Dumbarton. Under the 1973 Local Government Scotland Act, the county council became abolished and administration became transferred to the newly fashioned Strathclyde council vicinity.

When Strathclyde became itself dissolved in 1996, the term "Dunbartonshire" resurfaced in local administration within the names of the brand new council regions of East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire. The councils do not cowl the complete vicinity of the historic county, which additionally stretches into the Argyll and Bute and North Lanarkshire which covers the county's massive Cumbernauld exclave council regions. The East Dunbartonshire council region also covers components of the counties of Stirlingshire and Lanarkshire.

Loch Lomond is a lake in southern Scotland. It’s part of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The surrounding highlands region is home to purple deer and all rightwoodlands. On the jap shore, footpaths and cycle trails criss-go craggy Ben Lomond mountain and the smaller Conic HillDumbarton Castle has the longest recorded records of any stronghold in Scotland. It overlooks the Scottish city of Dumbarton, and sits on a plug of volcanic basalt called Dumbarton Rock which is 240 feet excessive.
