About Droitwich Spa
Droitwich Spa is a town in northern Worcestershire, England, on the River Salwarpe. It is found around 22 miles south of Birmingham and 12 miles west of Redditch. The town was called Salinae in Roman occasions, at that point later called Wyche, got from the Anglo-Saxon Hwicce kingdom, alluded to as "Saltwich" as indicated by Anglo-Saxon sanctions, with the Droit included when the town was given its contract on 1 August 1215 by King John.
The "Spa" was included the 19th century when John Corbett built up the town's spa offices. The River Salwarpe going through Droitwich is likely gotten from Sal signifying "salt" and weorp which signifies "to hurl" i.e. "the waterway which hurls salt" which floods from the salt brackish waters. The town is arranged on enormous stores of salt, and salt has been separated there since antiquated occasions.
The characteristic Droitwich brackish water contains 2 1⁄2 pounds for every magnificent gallon of salt ten times more grounded than ocean water and equaled just by the Dead Sea. During the Roman time the settlement was known as Salinae and was situated at the intersection of a few Roman streets. Railroad development in 1847 uncovered Roman mosaic asphalts, and later unearthings uncovered a Roman manor or passage house somewhere in the range of 44 yards in length.
