Dartford

Dartford is the essential town in the Borough of Dartford, Kent, England. It is found 18 miles south-east of Central London, and is arranged adjoining the London Borough of Bexley to its west. To its north, over the Thames estuary, is Thurrock in Essex, which can be come to by means of the Dartford Crossing. The town focus lies in a valley through which the River Darent streams, and where the old street from London to Dover crossed: subsequently the name, from Darent portage.
