Coughton Court
About Coughton Court
Coughton Court lattice reference SP080604 is an English Tudor nation house, arranged on the primary street amongst Studley and Alcester in Warwickshire. It is a Grade I recorded building. The house has a since quite a while ago crenelated façade specifically confronting the principle street, at the focal point of which is the Tudor Gatehouse, dating from 1530.
The Coughton bequest has been claimed by the Throckmorton family since 1409. The bequest was obtained through marriage to the De Spinney family. The gatehouse is the most seasoned piece of the house and is flanked by later wings, in the Strawberry Hill Gothic style, promoted by Horace Walpole.
