Chesterfield Museum and Art Gallery is a nearby museum and art gallery in the city of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. The hall become named in honour of the British railway pioneer George Stephenson and the museum has a small series of items referring to Stephenson and his own family. The museum is throughout the street from the Church of St Mary and All Saints, the parish church extra popularly known as the Crooked Spire.
The museum, established in 1994, offers the history of Chesterfield from its origins as a Roman castle to the present. It is located on St Mary's Gate inside the Stephenson Memorial Hall,dating from 1879 and firstly built as a mechanics institute. Later this a part of the constructing turned into used for the city's public library. Chesterfield Museum is owned and operated by Chesterfield Borough Council. Chesterfield is a market metropolis and borough in Derbyshire, England. That is very stunning location.
