Chester

Chester is a city in northwest Britain, established as a Roman fortification in the first century A.D. It's known for its broad Roman dividers made of neighborhood red sandstone.

In the old city, the Columns is a shopping area recognized by 2-level secured arcades and Tudor-style half-timber structures. A Roman amphitheater, with continuous unearthings, lies simply outside the old city's walls.hester was established as a "castrum" or Roman post with the name Deva Victrix in the reign of the Sovereign Vespasian in 79 Promotion.

One of the principle armed force camps in Roman England, Deva later turned into a noteworthy regular citizen settlement. In 689, Lord Æthelred of Mercia established the Minster Church of West Mercia, which later turned into Chester's first house of prayer, and the Saxons stretched out and reinforced the dividers to secure the city against the Danes.

Chester was one of the last urban areas in Britain to tumble to the Normans. William the Winner requested the development of a manor, to rule the town and the adjacent Welsh fringe.
