About Charles Burrell Museum
The Charles Burrell Museum is a museum in Thetford in Norfolk dedicated to steam power and steam transport. The exhibition hall opened in 1991 in the previous Paint Shop of Charles Burrell and Sons, or, in other words recorded, on Minstergate in Thetford. The accumulations recount the narratives of the Charles Burrell Works, an organization which at one time utilized 350 individuals who worked there until the point when business shut in 1928, and the steam-fueled motors they created and which sold far and wide.
Showcases incorporate a Charles Burrell and Sons Ltd steam roller, footing motor and a Showmans Road Locomotive, parts of Burrell motors, manufacturing plant apparatus, rural gear and things connected to the Burrell Family. The first intends to huge numbers of the Burrell motors are held secretly by the Palmer group of Haughley in Suffolk through the marriage of Mrs Annie Palmer to Mr Thomas Doran JP, Mayor of Thetford, whom with his sibling established Doran Bros of Thetford at Haughley House in Croxton Road, Thetford.
