About Castel Coch

This building is predominantly known as a sentimental habit as far as anyone knows duplicating a little medieval Welsh chieftain's fortress, worked in the 1870s, for the third Marquess of Bute to a plan by William Burges, and having the most striking inside beautification.

In any case, it was based upon the remaining parts of an honest to goodness thirteenth-century château worked in two phases. A proof was found of the building having been purposely insulted by mining.

The manor was most likely established by a Welsh ruler in c1240-65 and had around pinnacle keep at the SW corner of a little D-molded patio with a corridor on the south side, all worked of harsh rubble sandstone from which the building took the name Castell Coch, or "Red Castle."
