Canterbury
About Canterbury
Canterbury, a house of prayer city in southeast England, was a journey site in the Middle Ages. Old dividers initially worked by the Romans, encompass its medieval focus with cobbled lanes and timber-confined houses. Canterbury Cathedral established 597 A.D., is the central station of the Church of England and Anglican Communion, joining Gothic and Romanesque components in its stone carvings and recolored glass windows.
The Christian journey to Canterbury Cathedral, dating to Archbishop Thomas Becket's death there in 1170 A.D., is deified in Geoffrey Chaucer's fourteenth century scholarly gathering, "The Canterbury Tales". Canterbury Heritage Museum blends neighborhood recorded shows with vintage characters from the youngsters' TV arrangement "The Adventures of Rupert Bear".
