About Canal Museum
The Canal Museum, previously referred to as the "National Waterways Museum Stoke Bruerne” and "The Canal Museum” at Stoke Bruerne, is a canal museum located subsequent to the Grand Union Canal simply south of the Blisworth Tunnel, close to the village of Stoke Bruerne in Northamptonshire. It is about 16 km north of Milton Keynes and 11 km south of Northampton close to junction 15 of the M1 toll road. The museum is housed in a restored corn mill on the pinnacle of a flight of canal locks, and is considered one of numerous museums and points of interest operated by means of the Canal & River Trust, the successor to The Waterways Trust.
The museum tells the tale of Britain's inland waterways and the individuals who labored on them. It offers an perception into the transport gadget which turned into fundamental to the industrial revolution in Britain. There are operating models and 3-D displays such as a model of the quick-lived willing-aircraft mechanical lift at Foxton in Leicestershire.
