About Caddington
Caddington is a town and common ward in the Central Bedfordshire region of Bedfordshire, England. It is between the Luton/Dunstable urban region toward the north, and Hertfordshire toward the south. The western outskirt of the ward is Watling Street, toward the west of which is Kensworth. The northern and eastern outskirt are by and large framed by the railroad line and the M1. Toward the south-east of the area is the ward of Slip End, and toward the south is Markyate, in Hertfordshire.
Caddington town and the close-by village of Aley Green are in the south of the parish. The villa of Chaul End lies in the north of the ward, and at the fringe with Luton there is Caddington Park with Skimpot in its postal location. The Zouches Farm radio pinnacle is arranged in the north-west of the area. The place-name 'Caddington' is first verified in a rundown from around 1000 AD of the houses of St Paul's Cathedral in the Parker Library of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where it shows up as Caddandun. It shows up as Cadandune in the Codex diplomaticus aevi Saxonici of around 1053, and as Cadendone in the Domesday Book of 1086. The name signifies 'Cada's down or hill'.
