Bournemouth s Pleasure Gardens

Until the start of the nineteenth century the region was for the most part vegetation and bog. Advancement of the land started in 1840 yet it wasn't until 1859 that the proprietors allowed consent for the region to end up an open joy ground. The 3 kilometers of land we know as our Upper, Central and Lower Gardens today didn't all join as one garden until the point when 1872.

There was an opposition to plan the Lower Pleasure Ground in 1871, the champ was Mr Philip Henry Tree. His outline included new strolls, manors and flowerbeds. Enhancements were done throughout the years however the greatest changes were in the 1920s when the Square was laid out and the structure was worked in the Lower Gardens.
