The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge is an Art Gallery, Library and Visitor Information Center arranged in the core of noteworthy Canterbury.The building takes its name from its promoter, Dr. James George Beaney, a Canterbury-conceived man of the humble foundation who examined solution before emigrating to Australia, where he discovered his prosperity.
Upon his demise in 1891, Dr. Beaney left to cash in his will to the city of Canterbury to construct an 'Organization for Working Men' with pleasantries for men from poor foundations.His support was essential in building the Beaney Institute: another home for the Canterbury Royal Museum and Free Library, now known as The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge.
