About Auckland Castle
Auckland Castle, otherwise called Auckland Palace and locally as the Bishop's Castle or Bishop's Palace, is situated in Bishop Auckland, its neighboring town in County Durham, England. Worked by the Church of England for the ruler religious administrator of Durham for over 800 years, Auckland Castle was initially settled as a chasing lodge. The vital seat of the Bishops of Durham from 1832, it was moved in July 2012 to the Auckland Castle Trust, a magnanimous establishment to re-establish both the palace and grounds and furthermore build up lasting displays on the historical backdrop of Christianity in Britain and the North East.
