About Anglezarke Reservoir
Anglezarke Reservoir is the biggest store in the Rivington tie toward the west of Anglezarke in Lancashire, England. Anglezarke Reservoir has three banks, the longest, the Charnock Embankment is 777 meters in length and 9.45 meters high, the Knowsley Embankment is 219.5 meters in length and 14 meters high while the Heapey Embankment is 85.3 meters in length and 9.75 meters high. It is sustained by the River Yarrow, which has been redirected from its unique course which is currently secured by the Knowsley Embankment.
It served the city of Liverpool before its present status as a supply basically for Wigan. The first `Rivington Pike Scheme' was embraced by Thomas Hawksley in the vicinity of 1850 and 1857. The plan was to develop five repositories and a water treatment works at the south end of Lower Rivington with a 17-mile pipeline to capacity supplies at Prescot.
