About Abergavenny
Abergavenny is a market town and network in Monmouthshire, Wales. Abergavenny is elevated as a Gateway to Wales. It is situated on the A40 trunk street and the A465 Heads of the Valleys street and is roughly 6 miles 9.7 km from the outskirt with England. Initially the site of a Roman stronghold, Gobannium, it turned into a medieval walled town inside the Welsh Marches. The town contains the remaining parts of a medieval stone palace constructed not long after the Norman success of Wales.
Abergavenny is arranged at the intersection of the River Usk and a tributary stream, the Gavenny. It is for the most part encompassed by mountains and slopes: the Blorenge 559 m, 1,834 ft, the Sugar Loaf, 596 m, 1,955 ft, Ysgyryd Fawr Great Skirrid, Ysgyryd Fach Little Skirrid, Deri, Rholben and Mynydd Llanwenarth, referred to locally as "Llanwenarth Breast". Abergavenny gives access to the close-by Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The Offa's Dyke Path is close by and the Marches Way, the Beacons Way and Usk Valley Walk all go through the town. In the UK 2011 evaluation, the six significant wards Lansdown, Grofield, Castle, Croesonen, Cantref and Priory all things considered recorded Abergavenny's populace as 12,515. The town facilitated the 2016 National Eisteddfod of Wales.
