About Pysanka Museum
The modern-day Pysanka Museum building became built in 2000 in the western Ukrainian metropolis of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivska Oblast. Previously the pysanka series have been housed inside the Kolomyia church of the Annunciation. The museum is a part of the National Museum of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya Folk Art. The critical a part of the museum is in the form of a pysanka. This is the only museum inside the world devoted to the pysanka, and it has emerge as a calling card of the metropolis. In August 2007 the museum become diagnosed as a landmark of modern-day Ukraine.
The museum changed into opened on 23 September 2000, at some stage in the 10th International Hutsul festival. Director Yaroslava Tkachuk first got here up with the idea of a museum inside the shape of a pysanka, nearby artists Vasyl Andrushko and Myroslav Yasinskyi brought the idea to life.
