About Pryluky
Pryluky is a town placed at the Udai River in Chernihiv Oblast, north-primary Ukraine. Serving as the workplace of Pryluky Raion the metropolis itself is incorporated as a town of oblast importance and does no longer belong to the raion. Located close by is the Pryluky air base, a primary strategic bomber base at some point of the Cold War, which is Ukraine's largest airfield population 57,735.
Archeological excavations have shown that a settlement at the territory of the cutting edge metropolis dates again to the 2nd millennium BC. According to 1 explanation, the metropolis derived its name from its vicinity, being located on a flip inside the river that appeared like a bow when regarded from above. Another idea holds that the city's name connotes the concept of being located on floodplain meadows.
Pryluky became first mentioned in 1085 by Prince Volodymyr Monomakh in his Precepts to My Children. That year the city citadel sheltered the prince and his entourage from the horde of Polovtsy and shortly the prince's armed forces, strengthened via the Pryluky militia, routed the enemy. However in 1092 the Polovtsy attacked the citadel all over again wiping out the complete populace and sacking the town.
