Palanok Castle

The Palanok Castle or Mukachevo Castle is a historic citadel in the metropolis of Mukacheve inside the western Ukrainian oblast of Zakarpattia. The Palanok Castle is delicately preserved and is placed on a former 68 meter excessive volcanic hill. The fortress complicated consists of 3 elements the excessive center and occasional citadel. There are no accurate records at the circumstances of the construction of the castle. Archaeological studies indicates that the place became already inhabited in the Neolithic era, and that inside the Bronze and Iron Ages there was a fortress at the website of trendy fortress.

At the time of the conquest, a citadel built from piles stood on the top of cutting edge castle hill. Together with his courtyard he moved to the Munkacs region and together with his sports he greatly promoted the financial and cultural development of Transcarpathia. He set up his court in the castle of Munkacs, extending it considerably. At his feet a huge ditch changed into dug and filled with water. The different name of the citadel is Palank.
