About Yuksekova
Yuksekova, earlier known as Gever, is a city and a locale of Hakkari Province of Turkey, arranged on the fringe with Iran. Its area on the exchange course between north western Iran and eastern Turkey made it an imperative point for voyagers and the area of a few ethnic gatherings that were dynamic in provincial exchange. In the 19th and the start of the 20th century, Gawar had around 30 towns. Preceding World War I the number of inhabitants in Gawar was 15,000. Inhabitants lived off farming that primarily comprised of wheat, grain, cotton and tea. Gawar had around 1497 families during the 1880s.
Up until World War I, Gawar was the seat of a religious administrator of the Church of the East. The region of Gawar filled in as the fundamental travel stop for Assyrians going between the Hakkari innate zones and the Urmia fields. During the 1810s the entire populace of towns in the area of the Upper Zab River were Assyrians until the Assyrian decimation.
