Yalova is a town placed in northwestern Turkey, near the jap coast of the Sea of Marmara. Yalova has a city population of a 100,863, even as the population of Yalova Province is 118,998 as of 2011. Currently there is a controversy across the municipal election results in Yalova specially after the Supreme Election Board invalidated the 2014 Municipal Election consequences on April 24, 2014 after some recounts that modified results. In popular, it's miles assumed that the name "Yalova" comes from "Yaliova", "Yali" which means that "residence at the coast" at the same time as "ova" means simple in Turkish. The first agreement within the vicinity dates again to the Prehistoric Period, in around 3000 BC.
The Hittites dominated the vicinity in the 21st century BC, followed by using the Phrygians within the 13th century BC, and thereafter via the Greeks in the archaic, classical and Hellenistic eras. The vicinity became conquered with the aid of the Romans in 74 BC. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the town changed into a part of the Byzantine Empire. In Antiquity and for most of the Middle Ages, the town became referred to as Pylae or Pylai, in Bithynia, which is Greek for "gates", as it turned on the start of one of the most important routes leading into Asia for whomever crossed the Sea of Marmara from Europe.
