About Yag Mosque
Yag Mosque is a recorded mosque situated in the old town of Adana at Alimunif Street. Evliya Celebi likewise says an old church that used to exist. The mosque was worked in 1501 on the vestiges of the congregation by Ramazanoglu Halil Bey and named initially Eski Mosque. Afterward, his child Piri Mehmet Pana has constructed its minaret in 1525 and its madrasah in 1558. The mosque later wound up known as Yag Mosque because of the oil bazaar that was only alongside it.
Yag Mosque is worked in the Seljukid Grand Mosque style. The supplicating territory has a rectangular shape and it is part into five naves with four lines of sections. The mihrab of the mosques is the apsis that stayed from previous church. The door of the mosques is of yellow and dark hued stone and is an imperative show-stopper. The Yag Mosque Medrese is situated in the patio of the mosque. There are classrooms, cells and a kitchen in the madrasah. Classrooms are secured with vaults and cells have support curves.
