Tirebolu is a town and area of Giresun Province, Turkey. In his Anabasis, the old Greek student of history Xenophon 431– 360 BC composed that Colchians, Drilae, Habibs, and Tiberians had been living in the eastern parts of the Black Sea area amid the century BC. The Naturalis Historia of Pliny the Elder relates that the old fortification city of Tripolis was established 656 BC as an exchanging province of the Ancient Greek city-territory of Miletos, one of almost 90 along the Black Sea drift.
Tripoli was next piece of the Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, one of the three urban areas that give the town its name, the others being Andoz the present Espiye and Bedrama or Bedrum in the Harsit valley. At the point when Alexios Komnenos later Emperor Alexios I of Trebizond and his sibling David established the Empire of Trebizond in April 1204, about the time the Fourth Crusade caught and sacked Constantinople, Tripoli turned out to be a piece of this realm. As late as 1404, it was a piece of the immediate region of the Emperor of Trebizond.
