About Rize Castle
Rize Castle is an incompletely destroyed medieval stronghold situated in Rize, northeastern Turkey. Rize Castle is arranged on a slope southwest of the downtown area, and offers an all encompassing perspective of the city. The manor comprises of a bastion and the lower palace. It is trusted that the fortification was worked amid the rule of Byzantine ruler Justinian I, and the lower manor goes back to the thirteenth century.
It covers a territory 480 m², The stronghold's dividers, worked in ashlar and mortar, are 2– 20 m high and 2– 3 m thick. Between the chamber shaped bastions, there are overhung bolster towers in different structures, for example, square, rectangular and round. Today, a portion of the demolished chateau dividers are covered under strengthened solid structures and lanes. The stronghold dividers in the southern part were reestablished in 1989. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism propelled an undertaking for the reclamation of Rize Castle in 2011.
