About Pertek
Pertek is a little city and its encompassing locale in Tunceli Province of present day Turkey. Pertag, signifies "modest fortification" in Armenian. The zone of Pertek was managed by ious domains in its history. In the medieval period, for example, the Armenians and Byzantines before being assumed control by ious Islamic lines after the 11th century. Later it turned out to be a piece of the Ilkhanids and others lastly turned out to be a piece of the Ottoman Empire in the mid 16th century.
Amid the Ottoman time frame Pertek was an innate Kurdish sanjak. The old town of Pertek was situated close to the bastion yet was surrendered in 1838 and moved to its current location. Before the Armenian decimation it was populated by Armenians, Turks and Kurds. Today the city is populated by Turks and Kurds. The chairman is Recai Vural. The city has a populace of 6,341.
There are two memorable Ottoman mosques in Pertek. The Baysungur mosque and Celebi Ali mosque. The mosques were later disassembled and moved from the site of the old town to shield them from flooding in Lake Keban. Nearby Pertek is a medieval castle. There are other noteworthy sights in the close-by territory. The town of Sagman has a demolished fortification with a sixteenth century mosque, tomb and tekke worked by the Kurdish sanjak bey Keykusrav.
