About Nizip
Nizip is a district and city of Gaziantep Province of southeastern Turkey. As of 2010, the number of inhabitants in the city is 96,229. It is found 45 km from the city of Gaziantep, 95 km from Sanliurfa, and 35 km from Karkamis, or, in other words city additionally referred to truly as Carchemish. It is very close to the old Roman urban areas of Zeugma and Rumkale, which implies Roman Castle. The city is generally mistaken for Nusaybin in light of the fact that the two urban communities had comparative old names, which are Nisibis.
Indeed, even in extremely sound reference books there seem a few disarrays. In fact, while Nizip is close to the Euphrates stream, Nusaybin is close to the Tigris waterway. In unearthing destinations, profitable mosaics have been found, including those of Triton, Dionysos' Wedding, Poseidon, Perseus, Gypsy Girl or Gaia, Dolphin and Eros, Physke, Akhilleus, Aphrodite's Birth, and Europa. In 1839, the Ottoman Empire and Egypt, which was being ruled by Muhammad Ali of Egypt went to war in the farmland of Nizip on June 24, 1839. Hence, the war was known as the Battle of Nezib.
