About Kozan
Kozan is a city in Adana Province, Turkey, 68 kilometers upper east of Adana, in the northern segment of the Cukurova plain. The city is the capital of the ilce area of Kozan. The Kilgen River, a tributary of the Ceyhan, moves through Kozan and crosses the plain south into the Mediterranean. The Taurus Mountains ascend pointedly behind the town. Sister was the capital of the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, the present Sis antiquated city, now called Kozan Kalesi, was based on a long rough edge in the focal point of the cutting edge city.
The number of inhabitants in the city has developed quickly as of late, from 15,159 of every 1960, to 54,451 out of 1990, to 72,463 out of 2007 and to 74,521 out of 2009 statistics figures. Today demolishes of places of worship, religious circles, chateaux and castles might be seen on all sides. The grand manor and the religious community and church worked by Leo II, and containing the crowning ritual seat of the lords of Cilician Armenia, were as yet significant up until the Armenian Genocide. These days they are at the focal point of a fight in court between the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate and Turkey.
