About Gurgentepe
Gurgentepe is a small town and mountainous district of Ordu Province inside the Black Sea vicinity of Turkey, 48 km inland from the town of Ordu. According to the 2000 census, populace of the district is 36,860 of which 18,313 stay in the metropolis of Gürgentepe. The district covers an area of 143 km2, and the city lies at an elevation of 1,120 m. Gurgentepe is a district of steep mountain valleys on the street among the towns of Ordu and Sivas, both transportation and agriculture are very difficult.
The weather is common of the Black Sea region with the north winds bringing humidity and lots rain off the ocean, even though the inland aspect of the mountains have a dry weather. Most of the district is mountainside protected with woodland and shrubs, trees which include oak, chestnut and alder. The soil is volcanic, fertile and watered via mountain streams however maximum of the land is simply too steep for planting. The villages of Gurgentepe district consist of Alaseher, Bahtiyarlar, Dikenlice, Gulbelen, Gultepe, Hisarcıkpinari, Sirinkoy, Tepekoy, and Tuzla.
