About Fatsa
Fatsa is a town and a district of Ordu Province in the valuable Black Sea vicinity of Turkey. Population from Fatsa is greater than 115,000. The oldest recorded call of the city is Polemonion, after Polemon I of Pontus. A derivative of Polemonion, i.E. Bolaman, is the present day name of the river passing via Fatsa. The present call, Fatsa, has been influenced through contemporary, which translates as "face or housefront on the ocean", however has in reality mutated from Fanizan, the call of the daughter of King Pharnaces II of Pontus, through Fanise, Phadisana, Phadsane Phatisane Vadisani, Phabda, Pytane, Facha, Fatsah into brand new Fatsa.
Apart from Polemonion, another Greek call of the town changed into Side. The history of Fatsa goes returned to antiquity, while the coast changed into settled through Cimmerians, and Pontic Greeks in the centuries BC. The ruins on Mount Cingirt are from this era. Following the conquest of the Empire of Trebizond by means of the Ottomans in 1461, Fatsa turn out to be a part of Rum Eyalet and later part of Trebizond Eyalet of the Ottoman Empire and remained inside the Sanjak of Janik till the disintegrate of the Empire in 1921. Fatsa became a district of Ordu Province, following the formation of the Republic of Turkey in 1923.
