Erzincan

Erzincan is the capital of Erzincan Province in northeastern Turkey. Adjacent urban communities incorporate Erzurum, Sivas, Tunceli, Bingol, Elazig, Malatya, Gumushane, Bayburt, and Giresun. Situated at an elevation of 1,185 meters above ocean level, the city's atmosphere produces blanketed winters and warm summers. The city is striking for high quality copper merchandise and an extraordinary cheddar called "tulum peyniri" in Turkish. It is a huge street and rail intersection and was once noted for its flatware. Current businesses incorporate sugar refining and material enterprises. The city is home to the base camp of the Turkish Third Army.

Acilisene, the antiquated city that is currently Erzincan, was the site of the Peace of Acilisene by which in AD 387 Armenia was isolated into two vassal expresses, a littler one subject to the Byzantine Empire and a bigger one reliant on Persia. The etymological starting point of the word is debated, yet it is concurred that the city was once called Erez. For some time it was called Justinianopolis to pay tribute to Emperor Justinian. In the settlement of Erez, at a yet unidentified site, there was a pre-Christian place of worship devoted to the Armenian goddess Anahit. A content of Agathangelos reports that amid the principal year of his rule, King Trdat of Armenia went to Erez and visited Anahit's sanctuary to offer forfeit.
