About Divrigi
Divrigi, truly known as Tephrike and in the past here and there called Divrik, is a residential area and a region of Sivas Province of Turkey. The town lies on delicate incline on the south bank of the Caltısuyu stream, a tributary of the Karasu river. During the Byzantine time frame Tephrike was an essential fortification for the dualist apostate Armenian Paulicians. Their pioneer, Karbeas, established and the Paulicians strengthened it and utilized it as shelter and the capital of their state amid the 9th century.
It was caught by the Byzantine Empire amid the rule of Emperor Basil I and was incidentally named Leontokome and made into a thema. In the mid 11th century, the town was a piece of the region given to the Armenian ruler Seneqerim-Hovhannes of Vaspurakan in return for his properties in Vaspurakan. Around 1071, after the skirmish of Manzikert, the region was vanquished by a Turkmen warrior named Mengujek Ghazi. A medieval manor, with remains for the most part from the 13th century, is arranged over a lofty slope ignoring the town.
In 1228-29, while Divrigi was under the standard of the Mengujekids, the neighborhood ruler Ahmedshah authorized a mosque which stands for the most part flawless. The mosque, alongside the connecting hospital, built in the meantime as the mosque by Turan Malik, girl of the Mengujekid leader of Erzincan, Fakhreddin Bahramshah, are on UNESCO's World Heritage List by uprightness of the lovely carvings and design of the two structures. The complex is viewed as a standout amongst the most critical works of engineering in Anatolia.
